DFI LanParty NF4 SLI-DR Expert: Cant DL Drivers

Postby SeanDuck » Tue Jun 28, 2011 1:58 am

Just re-set up my desktop and I am having problems connecting to the internet on it (Have a laptop working fine).

When I go to device manager I have the yellow question marks on the following:

Ethernet Controller
Multimedia Audio COntroller
Other PCI Bridge Device
PCI Memory Controller
RAID Controller
SM Bus Controller
Video Controller
Video Controller (VGA Compatible)

As far as I can tell this is the old motherboard: DFI LANPARTY nF4 SLI-DR 939 NVIDIA nForce4 SLI ATX AMD Motherboard

which if I researched correctly has a Dual Gigabit LAN - Vitesse VSC8201 Gigabit Phy and Marvell 88E8001 Gigabit PC.

Just looking for the fastest easiest way to connect to the internet so I can update everything else that way. If you need more information just ask. (Win XP)

@ SeanDuck:
Welcome at nForcersHQ Forum!

According to the yellow marks within your Device Manager you will need a lot of drivers from different manufacturers:
  1. nForce4 chipset drivers from NVIDIA
My advice: Download and install my "NForce4 WHQL Driverpack for XP". You can get it from >here<.
  2. Ethernet (LAN) driver from Marvell (if you want to use the Marvell LAN port).
You can get the small driver package just containing the needed 32bit driver for Windows XP from >here<.
  3. AC'97 Audio Codec driver from Realtek (if you don't install my "NForce4 WHQL Driverpack for XP")
You can get it from >here<.
  4. Video driver for your graphics card (probably from NVIDIA or AMD/ATI)
  5. if the detected RAID Controller is a Sil3112 or Sil3114 one, you will additionally need a suitable SATARAID driver from Silicon Image.
    You will find it >here<.

The easiest way would be to download my "NForce4 WHQL Driverpack for XP" (see the link above) with your notebook. The unzip the package, transfer it to your desktop PC by using an USB stick and run the installer of the package.
After the successful installation of the nForce chipset drivers you should get your internet connection. Precondition: The LAN cable has to be connected with the NVIDIA (Vitesse) LAN port.
