Hi there,
I'm beginning to think it's really the above board which is the culprit.
For the time being, I won't OC anything, for I first have to get this to run stably.CPU is an older Athlon XP with which I'm using the SDRAM kit from G.Skill, F1-3200PHU2-2GBZX, actually meant to operate stable enough in DDR400 mode. Dual Channel is detected and also displayed at POST.
My Windows (XP & 7) never runs stable if DDR400 is set. Even though BSODs and/or crashes of the DWM (Win7 only) won't happen for hours, 3-6 hours later they WILL happen.
Besides, does my bios ignore FSB settings at times? Had in bog-standard FSB133 (DDR266) and 3:5 FSB:DRAM ratio for a starter. Multiplier = 7x.
CPU-Z only showed a (wrong?) multiplier of 15x, a bus speed of 100 MHz and a rated FSB at 200 MHz, although it should show bus @ 133 and rated FSB @ 266 if I set FSB = 133.
Could increasing tRAS (I got timings at 2-3-2-7) give me back stability in DDR400?
I'm not keen on trial-and-error, I'd like to UNDERSTAND the matter at first.
That aside, I also saw some lists on an OC's board, which had CL set to 3 with the same type of SDRAM.
(Any point in buying a CL2 set if you operate it at CL3 ?

)
