issue with windows 7 asus m2n-e sli

i use an Asus m2n-e sli motherboard and i am trying to install windows 7 on my computer..the problem i have is that the installation stops when it gets to the final stage of the installation.. i had the same problem with vista so i didnt bother installing.. can someone please help because i am running out of ideas..Thanks

system specifications?

has this system ever worked or is it a fresh build?

This was happening to me today as well. I was trying to install on a another partition with multi-boot nad that's when I had probs. Then I just said install on existing partition and wipe existing installation and that seemed to work. So if you have an existing install on there, try formatting it first during install.

On my asus board it did not like to have all the ram slots filled. I removed my 3rd ram and reinstalled and it went through ok. I now just run in dual channel with 2 one gig sticks of ram and leave the 3rd row empty.
