Well I think if you track the parts back a lot of it comes from Foxconn.

It's like washing machines, there are only half a dozen firms making them and each firm labels them with numerous brands according to price.

One factory alone will make machines branded Zanussi, Ariston, Hoover, Electrolux, Creda.

Another will make Miele, Bosch etc.etc.

Give it another 20 years or so and we will all be ruled by 3 or 4 mega corporations. Countries and govts will no longer exist as the real power....oh hold on....

Well was a bit annoyed this morning as the status of the 13z was changed to 7/12/09 for delivery!!!!!

Then I checked an hour ago and the status has changed to "SHIPPED".

So hopefully I should get it any day now.

Not a bad review here -

Pretty much same spec as mine.

It has arrived!

Inital impressions are positive. The battery is huge (as expected) so might get a standard 4 cell to go with it.

Just sorting out the Dell build at the mo. Not too much junk actually. Just Works,McAfee, Live Essentials and the Office 2007 compatability stuff to delete off.

Then join the two partitions into one large one.

Once thats done we'll see if the build is good enough to keep or just do a freshie.

Pics and stuff later.

A nice little netbook that... :sweet:

For me, this is the size laptops should have been in the first place, if it's supposed to be a portable PC, then it's got to be easier/light to move around.

My Lenovo X61s got bricked after a botched BIOS flash (Note to self: BIOS upgrades aren't that necessary).

Decided I was done with ultra portables since I rarely actually hauled them places. I did some shopping around and decided to go with the Lenovo Ideapad Y550P. It should get here soon; and oh, there will be i7 pwnage.
