Re: latest NVraid bios?

Thanks. To be clear, this will give my A8N-E board RAID5 capability simply by flashing with this 1013 bios? I have the latest nForce drivers.

Also, do you know if it will force me to reactivate Vista? The last time I've played around with modified BIOSes, Vista needed to be reactivated. By phone. I did it and everything worked. Just want to know how this one plays.

Thanks again.

Hello,

For the first question you are right! If you enter the mediashield utility in the beginning of the booting process (by pressing F10), the RAID 5 option will be available.

About your second question, I really haven't got the slightest idea ! :-)

This worked great! A8N-E, your hacked 1013 bios and I have RAID 5. Vista didnt even require reactivation. Thanks!

back from the dead .....

I'm trying to breathe some more life into my DFI LanParty nF4 UT Ultra-D rig.

I have an opteron 170, 2x1gig Mushkin Redline XP4000 ram, and the Oscar-Wu modded bios for Winbond/CH ram.

My nvRaid version is 5.50. Is there a newer one for the nF4 chipset? If so ... any ideas where to get it from? Or any ideas if my system will benefit from it?

Thanks,

~ryan

Though I am not sure how much new "life" a NVRAID bios will bring, the newest confirmed to work with NF4 boards is the 5.60, and can be found in the first couple of pages of this thread.

Same here, successfully updated NVRAID 4.81 to 5.60 on a DFI NF4 Infinity, modified by using cbrom 2.15. Awdbedit was a no go, for flashing.

I have no idea if an old existing RAID array made with the old BIOS will work with the new BIOS. Have not tried it, but I doubt if it will work.
