Hmm, that would be interesting for me, too cause I don't use RAID.
But the problem is that you get data corruption with Raidbios+NonRaid-Drivers and vice versa, so be carefull and quickly change the drivers!

hi , i figured out some problem ,

with bios 4.2.66 , boot on SATA OK --> boot on USB flashdrive Impossible

with bios 4.2.70 , boot on SATA Impossible --> boot on USB flashdrive OK

with bios 4.2.50 , boot on both OK

PS : i try every setting that could be tried , nothing change

PS2 : i use an7_19 , i release the 4.2.47 bios , then i add the new 48K bios

PS3 : if someone could try the 4.2.70 , and see if it is working with SATA !!
(have a boot disk with previous BIOS , because maybe it won't work)

Thanks

tfoutfou Thanks for information, so I've stopped on 4250 one for AN7. In parallel tree I've read about 4276 one, but it has 43kb size for MB, not 48kb as 4250 and we do from 4266&70 for add-in cards.
Does anybody here try 4276?

Yes I am currently running my system on the 4.2.76 sata bios... no major problems yet... been using it for a couple of weeks. The size of the bios is dependant of where you get it from... If it came directly from the sil website there will be three sets of bios.. 4276.bin (42kb), r4276.bin (128kb), and b4276.bin (128kb). You want to use the 4276.bin (42k)... If you want a true 48kb replacement sata bios you need to open r4276.bin bios in a hex editor and Copy from 0 to bfff to a newfile e.g 4276.bin - This file should be 48KB in length. I have used both the 42k and the 48k versions with no major problems, although after flashing there is a good chance you might have to re-install windows, there are a few that did not, but for me I had to.

I've flashed 4.2.76 which's 42 kb from distributive that was at Silicon Image into my AN7 BIOS. With drivers 1.0.56 from Microsoft it looks okey. I installed new OS yesterday and haven't seen any major issues just now. What about speed, really I have not found any major improvements, may be a little quicker, but I'm not sure at 100% :D However, when this file was been placed at Silicon Image Site, in the description was told that this bios is most suitetable for 1.0.53 drivers, however I don't really know why.

hope the thread is not dead yet...

i used the bios mod on an asus A7N8X-E deluxe and its working fine, but since last time i reinstalled windows im gettin problems with the acpi mode, windows wont install in acpi mode unless i force it to. (e.g. press F5 at the beginning of windows install) otherwise im running standard mode which sucks - cant use damon tools nor alcohol 120 etc....
anyone who reinstalled windows after flashing check in device manager for your computer mode pls - DO NOT TRY TO CHANGE THE DRIVER!!!!?
