My rigs

Postby zigonneux » Sat Nov 08, 2008 11:26 pm

My rigs:

Asus NForce 2 Deluxe, with Athlon 3000+ FSB 333 Mhz
2 x 1 gig memory dual channel
2 HDD's IDE, 200 and 320 gigs
2 HDD'S SATA, 300 and 320 gigs
1 Asus DVD UDMA
1 NEC 3550A burner
1 AGP 8x EVGA 7800GS working great for all games; this one is a replacement of my ATI X800XT All-in-Wonder. Bad drivers support for AGP from ATI was the cause of the change.
1 Samsung analog monitor 19"
1 Power Supply Corsair TX 650 watts
3 fans 120 mm on cases
Windows XP Pro SP2

And everything is running perfectly stable. Really happy with it.

NF7-S2.0 is nuts

Postby buddhafest » Mon Nov 24, 2008 7:27 pm

So I just picked up this Abit board for dirt cheap and swapped out my A7N8X-E Deluxe board.

The NF7-S 2.0 is a KRAZY board, im running my 2500+ Barton mobile @ 2.3ghz using a 230FSB x 10.0 setting with 1.65vcore and the system is rock solid.

I benched with the following programs for stability:
1. SuperPi Mod @ 32M
2. OCCT for 1hour
3. Currently using P95 and last i checked it was still running at the 11 hour mark. Will check again when I get home tonight from work. If it's stable after 12+ hours I'll be happy. If it's stable after 24 hours, than I know this system is a rock.

I wish I went with this board from the beginning, I had originally ran two Asus A7N8X-E Deluxe boards for years but now switched both of them to Abit NF7-S 2.0. I guess better late than never.

The nf7-s is a much more "overclocker board" than the a7n8x-E deluxe...although this one is a very good board too,but more for stability and lower clocks.
As news for my system, this weekend I will sell the mushkin 2x512 redlien kit and get a 2x1Gb Crutcial Ballistix PC4000 kit :)

My Nforce2 computer is now over four years old and still running with the original operating system.
The classic A7N8X //XP2600 Mobil clocked to 3200 specs 2.2 gigs at 400 fsb --1500MB memory

It is still fast as ever. The OS is not bogged down with garbage like others say theirs is.
I use it as my work computer.

Socket A is not dead!
