But I don't know who makes it or where I can find a driver which will enable the full gigabit speed.Gabe3 wrote:i get device cannot start sometimes when i boot, so to get internet I have to reboot sometimes and hope the NIC starts.
Yes I had the same problem as you. Running a Asus A8N-E NF4 Ultra motherboard too. I'd have to reboot to try my luck at having the network connection working. Usually it says "Device cannot start"
The fix is:
1) Go into Device Manager
2) Under "Network Adapters", Double click "NVIDIA nForce Networking Controller" to bring up "Properties" window.
3) Under "Power Management" tab, UNCHECK "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power"
4) Reboot
Sometimes I will still get an odd device which fails to start. I think there are some IRQ issues.
