[Help] Cannot create RAID5 with M3N78 Pro

Postby rusko » Mon May 11, 2009 7:17 pm

Dear all,
I'm facing very odd problems with my new M3N78 Pro (CPU: AMD5050e, 2Gb DDR2 800MHz, OS:XP x32 SP3): I have 4 HDs WD10EADS (1Tb each one) and I would like to make a 2.7Tb RAID 5 Array.
When I configure the Array (from BIOS) I get a message like: "Warning, volume bigger than 2Tb need OS driver 9.xx or newer". That's ok, my drivers are 10.3 (well... at least should be) but.. I cannot see the volume!
I tried to use only 3 HDs (to create a 1.8Tb RAID 5 Volume) and it works but is very very slow (about 8 hours to transfer 500Gb from an eSata HD)... What can I do? Please heeeelp!!!
Many thanks in advance!
Regards,
Rusko

*EDIT* : seems the eSata card is very slow... now I have to find out why.
About the 2Tb limitation: I installed Vista x32 and it's working! :-)

Just got here...
