IE8 should be a huge improvement over the previous, so even if the IE crowd doesn't switch they'll have a very good option shortly. Even the peoples who for some reason decided to stay with IE6 will want to go to IE8.

However, with Googles clout I can definately see alternative browsers gaining even more. More power to em. This is the first time I've tried Google software and liked it

No thanks. I have a tragic inability to look through irrelevant legalese.

Less 'backtracks' and more 'alters'. Backtrack would imply that they had changed it before, surely?

I'm liking it so far; it does open a lot of processes, but that's down to the fact that every tab is its own process, in an attempt to improve stability, speed, and memory management, and it seems to be working so far!

Also liking the 'Create application shortcut' feature. Gmail and Google Reader can now be opened and appear to function like real apps, separate from the rest of the browsing experience, which kind of alters the way I'm approaching tasks, especially as I've made Facebook and a few online games into apps too, and keep my general browsing and important stuff to the browser window; it cuts down on the regular 'distraction' tabs that I usually keep open.

Some people complained about the EULA, so Google changed it. Some others are complaining about the installation of the GoogleUpdate service on the system, although since it's only taking 848K of memory and no CPU cycles, and the fact that it's pretty damned important to keep your browser up to date, I'm not that bothered, although it would have been nice to have been told, or just to check for updates when the browser starts up...

Very impressive Google, you've got a fan here already; just rebuild the next version with the new version of Webkit, and get a Linux version up and running, and it'll become my default browser.

Now imagine Chrome in Asus Express Gate.

Anyway to find out what cores the various chrome.exe processes are using?
