problem with GPU client?

[rangor gubbins]

my gfx card stopped responding this morning. and a couple of times previously. Normally the ATI VPU recover kicks in and restores it, but this morning i had to reboot.
Not sure if its a problem with my GFX card or instability on my system or the GPU client.

... until i reboot at 8:30

seems to have crashed at 06:17 and then not been able to complete/start and new work units.
weird huh.
the gfx card seems to be working ok.

I have bought a zalman VF900-cu cooler for it, but don't want to put it on until i know there is no problem with the gfx card as i think installing 3rd party coolers may invalidate the warranty.

Any idea if this is a problem with my hardware or the GPU client?

nope (didn't know there was a new one). I tried updating the core today by deleting the old one, but it just downloaded the same one (1.03).
I'll try the new client when i get home from work. Do i just uninstall the old one and install the new or is there another way.

hang on. why don't i just have a read on the F@H forum....

I also tried to update my catalyst drivers yesterday (to 8.6 from 8.4), but for some reason during the process of i lost my directx so i restored windows.
