What is the cheapest U160 or U320 RAID card out there?
Ideally the interface needs to be PCI-e or PCI.
Preferably RAID5/3, but RAID0 is definitely an option....
Essentially: I've been given three SCSI drives out of an old workstation where the SCSI controller has gone "pop".
The drives are 36Gb 15,000 rpm U320 drives, so although not massive, they'd make a pretty tidy 72Gb RAID5 set for my main OS drive in Vista.
The drives are all fine: I've tested them on my old Adaptec 2940UW, low level formatted, NTFS formatted and chkdsk'd.
However, if I try to use these drives on this controller, they're single drives and capped at 40Mb/sec.
The speed cap isn't that much of an issue as there's nothing else on the SCSI controller these days, but I'd really like to get them into a RAID stripe or parity striped set.
