maybe poly can help. he does bios mods and may have run across what your experiencing. they have a good biostar following there. they have been having server problems lately and you may have problems get there. it seems to be working today.

i know, i know, i checked. it was worth a try anyway.

try tapping f8 key, same as with the delete key. i checked my 939 board and it list f8 as load setup configuration. worth another try. :D

poly's reference to f switch. i was wondering if something like a blind flash with switches might work.

if all else fails and you want to try to keep the board, get me the numbers off the bios chip(the ones under the sticker) and maybe a hot flash can be done.

no problem! nothing wrong with the vnf3.

you could try a hot flash using the vnf3. then set the chip aside in case of emergency and had to go back to the biostar but testing it now would be a pain.

:) Solved!!

Postby miquelmartos » Thu Jan 17, 2008 4:14 pm

Hello!
Yesterday I happened the same problems as you.
Update Bios with the biostar windows bios utility and then appeared Bios Checkum error.
Lot of trays, lot of bioses, lot of awdflash version and always errors!
Finaly works with this combination.

Award flash utility ver: 8.20a
Settings: /py /sn /cd /cp /cc /LD
Note this. --> "/LD" --> Destroys CSMOS Checksum And No System Halt For First Reboot After Programming.
Bios: N325a826 BF (Lastest).

You can download the .rar file with al these tools at:

http://*.com/files/138853961/NF325-a7.rar

Good Luk!

Miquel !!! you the man your fix saved my computer. saved me from buying a new motherboard. and knowing me i would have just bought a new mother, chip and memory and spent hundreds.. so you basically saved my hundreds of dollars and time! .

I recently purchased a new WD 400GM SATA 300MB/S and my computer now takes a while to detect my HD's so it cycles booting like 10 time before finally recognizing the drives and boots up. That is the reason i updated the bios that lead to me getting the Bios Corupt error. SO this annoyance of 10 reboots is something i can live with instead of bios corrupt error leaving me dead in the water.

Thank you.

Pablo
