Well disabling NCQ fixed my problems but it took several hours of googling and reading through numerous threads and a couple of reinstallations to find that out...

One is NCQ that I hope a new set of drivers might fix, the other one is that I get corrupt downloads if I'm offloading via active armor. If I set it to not offloadble then I don't get any corruptions but then what is the point of using a hw firewall...

I had the same problem after install nForce IDE drivers (5.34/5.46) in ASUS A8N-SLI (rev 1.02 BIOS 1011) + HDD Maxtor 6B200S0 (firmware BANC1E00). The WinXP SP2 simply hangup during boot screen. After several attempts I also decided to disable the option "Enable command queing" and thus finally the system can come back to work well.
