thanks for the tip!

it is the file http://koti.mbnet.fi/jaarli/bios/a7n8x_ ... r_1009.zip
right?

i opened this bios in a texteditor and searched for 1008/1009 strings and it says

"ASUS A7N8X Deluxe ACPI BIOS Rev 1008 03/29/2004"

in there.

are you *really* shure that this is the right 1009 one?
i found no traces of string "1009" in the file, besides the 1009.bin
filename.

cheers

Well, all I CAN tell is that BIOS name string was reading "ASUS A7N8X Deluxe ACPI BIOS Rev 1009" or so and I changed that to SamRo blabla 1009, so atleast something was 1009 when I first downloaded it. I dunno anything more about is it like REALLY something done there besides the name string and date, but I do know that now you get bios which namestring includes 1008 as first it included 1009.

I am using my über and I can't tell any diffirence in real... Anything else that it does work as any other one so far (peoples have had some problems with 1009 zip included 1008)

Well, there is a "beta" available if you look at the Asus download site for A7N8X Deluxe.
http://www.asus.com.tw/support/download/selectftp.aspx?l1_id=1&l2_id=10&l3_id=23&m_id=1&f_name=AN8D1009.zip~zaqwedc

This one is only for rev 1.04 and 1.06 boards and have following updates:
Description
1. Support AMD Sempron CPU
2. Patch 3D Labs AGP card compability issue
3. Update SATA ROM

So, it ain't no FINAL release....

it's still the same "old" 1008 saying bios... But what is new that now Asus have some info about in on their site indeed. So now we know there are propably coming 1009 final bios at some point future... In the mean time I guess we just have to wait...

And regarding point 3. Update SATA ROM, we already have newer than that :sweet:

Besides that part what you see in boot is just any text... I could write anything I like to that part... But it still said 1009 back when I started to modify it. But as we now know that 1009 ZIP includes beta 1009 in asus download-site, we might aswell just wait for final release...

Hey olmari, I have a question for you. After I flashed your 1008 uber BIOS I noticed a new line item under 'Chipset Features' (I think that's the menu title). The new item says 'CHIP Voltage Control'. I have options of +1.6v up to +1.9v in .1 volt increments. I have my suspicions but I'd rather let you explain it. I have a feeling this doesn't have anything to do with the South Bridge VDD voltage but I guess I can always dream right?

it does nothing for 99.99% of people.

The trats 1009 with the dfi rom rip based on asus 1009 for 1.xx and 2.xx, *minus* the name of creator shown when booting up is available now.

Works very well and should give superior results.
