You just need to temporarily unlink the cards in the driver settings, so they show as two seperate cards, on Vista you also need to attach a monitor to the 2nd card (I just connect it to the same monitor with a different cable, like a VGA provided your monitor has multiple inputs...) and 'extend your desktop' over the 2nd cards output.

After I set that up can I go back into SLI mode?

I also got a weird msg from my GPU client...

No idea what that is all about...

Edit: i see that it has failed multiple packages ... my CPU GUI (i'm trying to finish the package that i've had going...) hasn't failed any...

My cards are not overclocked...

I guess I'm going to step down my overclock on my CPU as well because it seems as if it rebooted the other night, I know this because I was completely logged out...

i'll stop them both, and reboot will normal settings on ram and FSB...

You need the 1.19 FahCore :-

http://foldingforum.org/viewtopic.php?f=52&t=6690

The 8600's are a bit flaky on the 1.15/1.18 cores, just download the new one and manually copy it over into your folding directory, you should be fine after.

If the GPU client is run while in SLI mode what happens?

would it work harder on 1 packet? or just use one gpu heavily...

I normally run my computer In SLI mode because most of the time I get on on my computer is to play CS or something... would sorta have to hate to mess with pausing the client, enableing SLI, etc etc :-/

and ty about the client will try it now

i just replaced the old one with that version *crosses fingers*

i thought it was my over clock... must set it back higher muahaha

i still miss the screen saver... :( that was the coolest part... but i guess it uses extra processing for that so... maybe they phased it out cause of that...

In theory yes, but SLI currently isn't supported by the GPU2 client, Stanford along with Nvidia are working on it though.

Sorry I know it must be annoying, but the team will be grateful for whatever you can contribute. As I said before, hopefully you'll be able to fold on two cards with SLI enabled soon in the future.

Yeah a lot of folks have had much better results stability wise with the 1.09 core, so it should be much more productive.

So when run in SLI mode, it only uses one GPU?

also...

Is there a way to make the console run without a login/pass thing? this is slightly annoying.

haha

Thank you so much for all your time, it's been greatly appreciated...

Soon i shall take over my fiance's pc for more points muhahaha
