Had some hassles getting my tuniq tower into my V1000 lianli. I originally wanted the fan of the TT blowing in the same direction as the lower rear case fan, but it wouldn't fit Evil or Very Mad .

(key: blue arrows = direction of air
Pink stuff = hardware
red circle = where the tuniq tower is blocked by case
black TT = tuniq tower)

So had to turn the TT round 90*, but then found that the resistors around the CPU socket blocked the base of the heatsink. Two options sprung to mind, 1. cut a few mm off the copper base, or 2. ignore the little notch and hole between the H-plate and copper base that ensure the heatsink is totally stable on the socket.
I went for option 2. Not sure about the warm CPU air blowing onto the GFX card, also not sure whether i should turn the lower rear case round so that is sucks air out rather then in.

Anyway, as for overclocking the e2200, so far it seems I'm not going to get a superduper OC. It seems stable (a few hours of orthos) enough at 11x270 which is just shy of 3ghz @ 1.45v. Currently trying 11x275 @ 1.4625v - looking good so far after 30mins and i'll be more than happy with that if its stable. If it does 24hrs orthos small FFT, thought I might try lowering the multi and upping the FSB. RAM seems like it'll reach 450+ MHz.
one thing that is worrying me is that Speedfan reads the vDIMM at ~2.37v, regardless of what i set it to in the BIOS (i've put it at 2.10v for now). In fact the speedfan reading for RAM voltage seems to only change if i change the vCore in the bios, i.e. if i lower the CPU voltage in the bios, then speedfan reads a lower RAM v.

There are so many voltage options in this MSI bios, not really sure if i need to up "VTT FSB volts", "SB I/0 power", "SB core". Had a play with them but not seemed to make any difference so far.

p.s. what happened to my folding sig?

think I've found the overclock for this chip.
seems that 11x273 @ 1.4625v is stable (12+hrs of orthos small FFT). Both cores go up to 62*c, which i hope is ok. 11x275 @ 1.4625v is not stable.
Ran memtest last night to see if the memory will do 450mhz. No errors, so going to try 10x300 @ 1.4625v with mem divider at 1:1.5 @2.2v (900mhz). at FSB 300, i'm overclocking the motherboard right? (300x4 = 1200). so maybe will need to play with the other voltage settings.

p.s. my lower rear fan has started rattling. Anyone got a good suggestion for a 120mm fan, i was thinking one of the yate loons?

Still dont understand why the compartimentalized cases. Think

I guess they have their pros and cons. can be a [burger] to get things to fit sometimes (i had to remove one of the hard drive bays to get the PSU to fit). But i suppose they have unusual airflows, which might keep things cooler (no idea if this is true). I have to say though, if i was going to buy the case again, i'd think twice. It does look good though, and i got it cheap. Really liking the look/design of the new v1000z cases (apart from having a window - i don't want to see the leds on my mobo or my tangle of wires) http://www.lian-li.com.tw/v2/en/product/product06.php?pr_index=213&cl_index=1&sc_index=25&ss_index=62

not sure what batter airflow is but i think it must be good. Plus it has a HDD hot swap PCB.
