It's good that the card is PCI-E 2.0 capable, so that it's doesn't suffer much bandwidth wise in a PCI-E x1 slot (PCI-E x2 effective).

I'll probably pick up one of those USB 3.0 > SATA docking stations also, but I'm happy just having the card for now and waiting to see what other USB 3.0 devices come out soon, i.e. flash drives etc

noticed today how much usb 2 pen drives have fallen in price

despite reports the chips in them have gone up in price

atto gives me around 100 read and 60 write

That's almost no bottleneck at all, it would be the same as that on SATA300, pretty damn good.

It would be cool to see some USB 3.0 external RAID setups to see how much bandwidth these first gen controllers put out.

Count on it; this is a raid drive, faster than most mechanical HDs and most SSDs as well
