@ perplext:

Welcome at nForcersHQ Forum!

Your problem can easily be solved by installing the tool named "HotSwap!", which is working fine with nForce SATA drivers too.
You can get the tool here.

Fernando

thanks for the welcome.

i don't use a controller card. it's just a bracket that switches eSata to SATA.

is that program still the answer?

as i mentioned the external drive i have used to pop up as a removable drive. maybe i can try different nforce SATA controllers?

Hi,
First of all I'd like to thank you for your efforts and work ;) You're doing great job Fernando! Thank you, i use your drivers set on my both machines :)
But...
There's a problem on my older one after installation of your LEGACY Remix Pack v5.5a.
I've got an ASrock K7NF2-RAID in this machine. It's got 10/100 fast ethernet LAN. After installation on brand new, fresh XP PRO SP3, LAN started to act weird. Coputers were detetcing each other, and i was able to see content of the second one, and vice versa, but any attempt of copying some files over the LAN failed. Computer stopped responding, and i was forced to do hard reset, there was no way to transfer anything. So i uninstalled the Ethernet drivers from your package, and installed official ones, WHQL instead of them. These beta divers were a problem - on WHQL everything works fine ;)
Anyway, thank you very much for your work, cheers!
EDIT:
I used nVidia NRM Ethernet driver (WHQL) [v50.11 | 09/30/2005]

@ pwlj:
Welcome at nForcersHQ Forum and thank you for your feedback!
This is the first time that I heard about an issue with the Ethernet NRM driver v65.65, which has been customized by me to make it usable for all related nForce chipsets.

Since the WHQL stamp doesn't have any influence on the function of a driver, there must be another reason for your LAN problem.
Please give me a link to the WHQL signed Ethernet driver v50.11 dated 09/30/2005. Then I will do a deeper look into the INF files.

Regards
Fernando

@ all NF2 users, who have used my LEGACY Remix Pack v5.4a or v5.5a:
Has anyone seen gotten a similar problem after having installed the Ethernet NRM driver v65.65?

Still Finding the best driverpacks

Postby dhany19 » Tue Jun 16, 2009 3:01 am

Hi, guys. :D
I'm newbie in this area. I'm installing Windows XP in my SATA harddisk(not RAID).
Recently I used driver nForce WinXP v.6.86. My system:
DFI nForce4 Ultra-D
AMD Athlon64 3000+ Venice
WDC 160Gb SATA2 [further informatio from HDTune HD Tune Pro:
WDC WD1600AABS-22PRA Information
Firmware version : 05.06H05
Capacity : 149.1 GB (~160.0 GB)
Buffer size : 2048 KB
Standard : ATA/ATAPI-7 - SATA II
Supported mode : UDMA Mode 6 (Ultra ATA/133)
Current mode : UDMA Mode 6 (Ultra ATA/133)
] :-s
Then I use 32bit NF4-7 Performance Pack v5.4. But the result not good. When I open device manager, the RAID section is not listed, nForce SATA driver controller is not working properly. I can not update the audio driver.
This confused me ](*,) ](*,) . My basic system is similiar to Fernando previous system.
1. Why my SATA HDD mode only UDMA Mode 6 (Ultra ATA/133)(in v6.86)?
2. Is CK804 can fully utilize your NF4-7 Performance Packs?
3. Why NVGTS.SYS in NF4-7 Performance Packs the version is older than v.6.86?
4. Is AC'97 Audio can use HD Audio Driver (v1.00.0.41) WHQL?
5. How to install RAID controller if RAID section is not listed in device manager?
6. Why my NVDIA Ethernet cannot working after install NF4-7 Performance Packs?
7. How to install manually SMU Driver (v1.61) WHQL and SMBus Driver (v4.69) WHQL? From what section in device manager?
I'm not running optional IDE driver registry cleaner (made by TwL) because the driver not installing properly.
I'm really appreciate your help guys.
Thx.

@ dhany19:
Welcome at nForcersHQ Forum!

Here are my answers:
1. See the post of wonkanoby.
2. Yes.
3. The nForce SATA driver v9.99.09 of my Performance Pack is much newer than those of NVIDIA's package 6.86.
4. Your mainboard has the AC'97 Audio chip, which doesn't support HD Audio. You may use Realtek's latest AC'97 Codec driver.
5. What do you mean with "RAID" section? There is only a "RAID and SCSI" section.
By te way: You cannot install the NVIDIA nForce RAID Controller unless RAID is enabled in the mainboard BIOS.
6. Before you install any new nForce chipset driver set, you have to uninstall the previously installed Ethernet driver. Otherwise the new Ethernet driver will not work properly.
7. nForce4 chipset mainboards do not need any SMU driver.
The SMBus "drivers" do support some system devices and should be installed by running the installer of the nForce chipset driver package.

Fernando

According Speed test in nForce4 SATA controller(Device Manger), my HDD only get 1,3Gb/s. how to obtain a speed approaching the speed of theoretical(3Gb/s)? I have install the SATAIDE from driverpack.
After booting screen, the HDD SATA mode still LBA and ATA133. How to fix this?
