Well system seems alot more stable, but still having memory problems, think I'll try a fresh install of Windows (again!) and try the drivers from anew.

Ruddy thing! :)

Which driverpack did you install?

You can use it, because my v4.0 driverpacks contain the similar nForce IDE drivers of the 10.3.0.xx series.

Hi,

I used the v6.86 before, now I want to try one of your packs, but no pack have the Audio driver or Audio Application (NVIDIA Mixer - I need it to turn the Sub-Woofer ON) so I am asking for some help what should I do.

OS: XP x64
MB: DFI Lan Party UT nf4 ULtra-D

Thank you in advance.

@ JtS®:

NVIDIA has stopped the development of the AC'97 Audio drivers some years ago, because the chips are made by Realtek. That is why you won't find them within the actual nForce chipset driver packs.

This is what I suggest:
1. Take the 32bit version of my "NF4-5 non-AHCI WHQL Driverpack". You will find the details and download links within the start post of this thread.
2. You can get the newest AC'97 Audio driver for your mainboard at Realtek (download link), but it is no problem to install the nForce Audio driver of your previously used official 6.86 driverpack.

Good luck!
Fernando

Why is "non-AHCI" better?
I have Win XP x64 Pro Edition - so I shuld use 64 bit driver pack.

JtS® wrote:Why is "non-AHCI" better?
This question is originated by a wrong conclusion of what I have written. There is no "best" driver for everyone, because all nForce systems (mainboard features, chipset details, RAID/non-RAID, BIOS, built-in and extern devices etc.) and the preferences of the users are different.
This is what I meant:
1. All actual nForce IDE drivers v9.xx and 10.x.x.xx are optimized for nForce chipset mainboards, which natively do support the AHCI features. Your mainboard does not have an AHCI capable chipset.
2. Since I had exactly the same DFI NF4 Ultra-D mainboard, I know about the good performance, but extreme sensitivity regarding the installed nForce IDE drivers, especially when run with RAID0.
3. If you don't want to try NVIDIA's brandnew official 15.23 pack and are searching for an nForce chipset driverpack, which will give you a rock stable system with a good performance and the option to create a RAID without any problems, I recommend to take my "NF4-5 non-AHCI WHQL Driverpack". These 32/64bit sets contain the latest available nForce IDE drivers without any AHCI support.

I have Win XP x64 Pro Edition - so I shuld use 64 bit driver pack.
Yes.

What about the NF4-7 Performance Pack for XP x64? What is modded in the SATA IDE Driver? I do not use RAID. There will be higher performance with this Performance Pack?
Show respect and you will be respected.
Thank you. Best Regards.
