Registry-Settings for example?
Because older NAM doesn't show this option when installed. Only with corresponding driver.
You probably have to install the nForce Ethernet driver v67.80 or v67.81, because there are corresponding NAM versions available.

Hi,

I'm a little confused about the audio drivers. I used the stock nvidia audio 2 years ago that was packaged with my mobo (Gigabyte K8NF9 Ultra), but found the latest Realtek AC97 drivers better.

My question: in your customized packages there's an option to install "HD audio drivers", are they compatible with my system (south bridge: Nforce 4 SLI CK8-04)? If so, which one is better the Realtek Audio driver or the nvidia?

Thx, and sry for my english

Welcome at nForcersHQ Forum!

You will not be able to get any nForce HDAudio driver installed, because your mainboard doesn't have a High Definition, but an AC'97 Audio chip, which is not supported by any HDAudio driver (neither from NVIDIA nor from Realtek).
Recommendation:
Take the latest AC'97 audio driver offered by Realtek, which is the manufacturer of the AC'97 audio chip.

Hi,

I'm having REAL problems with my current NF4 System, specs are:

Abit AN8 32X Motherboard
2 x 1gbNvidia 7950GX2 (SLi)
2 x 1gb Matched set Corsair XMS RAM(2-3-3-6 Timings)
300GB Samsung SATAII HDD
OS: Windows XP Pro SP3

Wondering if theres ANY Chipset drivers that can help me atm as I think this is where the problem lies...

Basically I get a RAM error, usually a "Unable to Read/Write @ XrefE000000 etc) or a "Access Violation @ Ref X000000 etc" which kicks me out of certain programs / games /browser.

This problem started after a clean format of my system, installed Windows, then chipset drivers from install CD (got these errors) so.... I re-formatted again and tried the updated chipset drivers from Abit Webby... same errors.

I have scanned the HDD in case that was the problem. Its all fine.
I have changed the HDD in case that was the problem. Same errors
I have memtested the RAM in case that was the problem. Its all fine.
I have changed the RAM in case that was the problem. Same errors.
I've switched DIMM slots in case that was the problem. Same errors.
I've changed SATA slots on MoBo from the NF controller to the ones near CPU which I believe are BIOS controlled. Same errors.
I've changed the voltages etc for the RAM etc in BIOS. Same errors.

I should mention that I have had this problem before with this system and after installing a set of chipset drivers all was well... Like a fool i didnt save those drivers or write them to a disk. :(

I'm hoping someone, possibly here, might have a clue WTF is goin on with my system coz I think I've tried everything and I'm at my wits end!

I'm about |----| that far from kickin the b'jeebus outta the damn thing!

@ Deanio:

Today NVIDIA has released 15.23 packs with brandnew nForce chipset drivers, which will support your NF4 chipset too. Try them.

Alternatively I recommend to take my "NF4-5 non-AHCI WHQL Driverpack", which you will find within the first post of this thread.

Good luck!
Fernando

Hi!

I'm using your driver package 4.0 for windows xp 32bit with my nforce 4 x16 AMD mainboard. (RAID0 Array)

It works but:
the "nForce4 PCI-Express Root Port" driver is missing. the original driver 6.86 got it. in 15.17 the driver is missing too.

On Windows Vista i have to install this driver seperatly with windows update ... windows xp update doesn't show it.
maybe nvidia removed it advisedly?
i'm using google since 2 hours and no results why the driver is missing in actual driver packages...maybe this driverinstallation isn't up2date and it works better without :/ ....... don't know :(

Fine, that you succeeded with the installation of my "Actual NF4-7 Driverpack" onto your NF4 RAID system.
None of the actual nForce driverpacks to contain a driver for this device.
Look here.
I have read some reports from users, who ran into problems after having installed the driver.
As long as you don't have any problem, I would do nothing.

thanks for your fast answer :)

under xp i will not install the driver seperatly ^^

on vista i still don't know. wu want to install this driver anytimes

edit:
hlc wrote:here are .inf file contents for those interested (as you can see it's just an .inf - it doesn't actually install any drivers - just changes device name so it's a cosmetic update - no wonder it's only optional @WU):

ok .. thats the answer^^

edit#2:
15.23 is out ... so i have to use the "optional IDE driver registry cleaner (made by TwL)" after the installation too?

My suggestion:
Before you are going to accept the installation of any nForce driver via Windows Update, you should check, if it is really safe (do a Google search or ask at nForcersHQ Forums). Many nForce users had to do a fresh OS install after having updated an nForce driver via WU.

It's optional. You can, but don't have to use it.
Attention: The optional REG file is specific for the OS and the nForce IDE driver series, which is in the same driverpack. Before you are running the REG file, you should check, if the just installed nForce IDE driver and the OS are in line with the name of the reg file.
