ok I found my problem
even with latest drivers (4.57) you need the latest nvmixer version.

version nvmixer v450 is inside beta 6.14 drivers and works perfectly (also in french)

Strange... your Audio Firewall page is different! mine looks like:

Not bad for a first topic!

edit: just updated to audio/mixer 4.57/450, now it looks the same.

Also, looking around in Resource Hacker, I found a picture representing a 7.1 speaker setup in NvMixer.exe, and sliders for left back and right back volumes, in addition to rear, in NvMixerENU.dll. Could this be a hint of things to come?

hmm quite a few things. instead of tell you all... and i wonder why u dont have it.. u said u have 4.57 and nvmixer 1.0 right? try dling it again and reinstalling it..

if u want, u can just try this reg export of the firewall settings i have in the registry. use at your own risk:

whats located in HKCU\software\nvidia corporation\nvmixer\firewall

edit: removed reg edit dl.

the 7.1 pictures and extra features seems neat. good find dude. lol, if they are things to come.. i wonder when it'll happen.. cuz nvidia is sure slow about everything.. hasnt nvmixer been out for awhile now?

But why didn't they tell us about it? Why keep this hidden?

Because the Firewall works only with English language dll. I installed this utility and the default language was Czech (like my Windows), after i activated the Firewall in registry the application crash. So i removed the language dll's and everithing is OK...
