the nforce 3 drivers will work on it when they are released.

The beta2 drivers didn't work on my A7N8X-E Deluxe.

Where others did report those drivers worked fine on the non-raid boards.

So if there's no solution for this I'll scratch nVidia from my list for a future upgrade.

READ CAREFULLY
that board DOES NOT, use an nforce raid controller, it uses a silicon image raid controller.

you can download the drivers for that from the silicon website.

Seen that article too but I do have Vista working good on my old nforce2 board which makes me wonder why (besides wanting to sell more chipsets) that Nvidia are being such dicks about this. After all I doubt that it would take a lot to make the drivers.

I have messed with Vista since early Longhorn alphas (Im part of Winbeta) and it always worked apart from the Silicon Sata support, you could simply use EIDE HDD's then get remixed or beta drivers for mobo, then near end the last few betas worked on Silicon, the RC2 and RTM do work on the mobo with latest Silicon beta driver, and all your hardware inc the Nvidia and Marvel GiG lan (cant speak for the 3com nic) will have drivers from Vistas driver base, every single aspect of my mobo inc my GPU was given a driver, I dont use onboard sound so had to install beta driver for my X-FI.
Obv this aint ideal esp the Nvidia driver for GPU as we need full drivers with advanced tabs, I have no doubt someone will remix a pack for us lot.

Ohh and yes Im on Raid 0 with 2 Raptor X's dual booting to XP-SP2 and Vista RTM.

I found the SATA beta RC2 drivers on the Silicon website but they wouldn't work as well. My BIOS version of the on-board SATA controller is 4.2.77. Sil does have a 4.2.79 but claim "This BIOS is not intended for general end-users. End-users with a SiI3112 onboard a motherboard, please contact the motherboard manufacturer". The MB BIOS is 1.08.
Also, The Vista upgrade advisor said I would have no problems at all with exception to the version of Nero that I am running.

O.K. Thanks for the help so far. My next hurdle is when I try to use the SATA utility in control panel and I try to update the controller BIOS, everything is greyed out. I went to Sil and downloaded the flash prog and r4279 BIOS to do it from DOS and it gives me exit code 1h and hangs.

Any ideas?

I've installed both the 4276 and 4279 T1 SATA boot BIOS's but now I can't boot to the SATA hard drive (WD 36GB Raptor). I haven't changed any BIOS settings, not even boot order and now no boot. It just goes through the boot order and when it comes to the hard drive, nothing...just sits there.

Ideas?
