I recently bought a PT880 PRO-A7C socket 775 motherboard as a quick replacement for an MB that died.
Problem is, there is no mic boost and I pretty much can't use my mic without it.
It's using the Realtek AC'97 audio, and I tried someone's advice on here to install the latest NForce Audio drivers instead, but it didn't seem to do anything. I installed it, and jolted through a progression status bar and the installation shut off. Didn't confirm the installation or tell me to restart the computer or anything. If I try to reinstall it, it's already present on my computer.
Looking in control panel, the only audio options are still Realtek. Am I not installing it right? Is there a way to use the NForce audio drivers instead of Realtek, and force it over it?
I guess the main thing is, does anyone know how I can get a mic boost option on here? I really need a mic, and can't use it unless I press the the thing up against my lips practicly.
P.S.
Sorry for not bumping the other thread as well.

I met the same problem too when I installing TF6100 754.
Unfortunately I haven’t found a solution to resolve this problem.
So at last I had to modify the inf file to enforce the driver installation.
Here is the method:
1. Lookup the sound driver in device manager, in detail information view, find the device ID , ie. PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_026B&SUBSYS_82131565&REV_A2\.....
2 .select and Ctrl-C copy it
3.open the nvidia driver u extracted after install eg c:\nvidia\nForceWin2KXP\4.62A\AudioDrv
4. open nvmcp.inf , find [NVIDIA] section, add two line
%nvmcp.DeviceDesc%=nvmcp, PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_026B
%nvmcp.DeviceDesc%=nvmcp, PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_026B&SUBSYS_82131565
(replace the ID u got in step 2)
save it.
5. uninstall realtek driver and use this driver. (Perhaps u need delete windows\inf\oem?.inf (realtek sound driver inf file))
6. enjoy. |

I too have the same problem, im waiting on the sound card to arrive, that wont be here for another month..
But in the mean time my Gigabyte GA-945GM-S2 MB uses Realteck HD Drivers, and i cant control any advanced options, i cant setup the mic, and i cant access any boost what so ever..
Anyone found any fixes that dont involve editing driver files.. |
