No Central Channel Audio

Postby adriandaz » Fri Nov 19, 2004 6:46 pm

Hello, I have the Version: 5.10 - Release Date: September 17, 2004 nForce drivers installed on my system, after removing the old ones and erasing any trace of them.

I had this problems before, but hoped it would be fixed with new drivers, when I play songs in WMP10 etc... no sound comes from my centreal speaker, here is an image of the levels when playing a song:

would be greatful for suggestions or a fix,

thanks,

EDIT: http://www.adriandaz.karoo.net/levels2.jpg

Thanks, the extra bar is now up, but there is still a bar that never appears out of the 6.

Also no sound comes out of the central speaker still, if I run the speaker setup it makes the center speaker make a squeaky sound?

thanks for any advice,

That "1" is a Hex value :)
Also, mine never runs all 6 bars unless I'm using the "Digital Live" setting and running it thru my receiver...

If your songs are 2ch recordings, you're supposed to hear music only from Left and Right front.

The APU does offer to clone this to the surrounds and create some mix for the center via #2's suggestion. IMHO none of this is a good idea, it will only destroy the stereo-perspective of the recording.

The last bar is LFE/Sub, it will be active when x.1 sources are played or/and if you activate the crossover to send everything below say 80Hz to the LFE/Sub channel.

I have this same problem, my value for "createcenter" in the registry IS set to 1 (hex). VU levels show an output in NVMixer but still nothing out of the center speaker during speaker tests, or dvd's.

Blackbirt, how did you solve it?

Thanks

In an much older version of the drivers when the nvMixer was called nForce Control Panel there were an option to create a center channel. I used to turn this on when listening to music and off while playing media that had a center channel allready (DVD's, games). Now i really really miss this feature because I think it sounded much better with the center speaker.

I have the same problem, too.
Newest drivers, but no center Speaker!

First, i do not have rear speakers, too in winamp for example. But I found something in the audio-options of winamp, and it does work!

klick here

Back to my problem, i have tried the change in the registry, but this does not work. Look here please!
So does anyone have another idea?
