I tried doing it through device manager like with W7 x64 in-box nForce IDE v10603, that had no cat file either but it installed. I tried signing the driver but it still refused to install.

Can you actually install these or not?

That's really strange.
Are you sure, that you took the 64bit driver version?

downloaded again, it's still not working. There seems to be bits missing from the inf and I reckon the nvstor.sys is corrupt.

I'm using then on W7 X64 7000, odd i got the same error ""Driver is not intended for this platform" only on my SATA ports, no problem with RAID, got a very good performance from then by the way.

Even with the error, device manager says v10608 for all and they are working well too.

Oh N570SLI AMD here btw.

Here are some news for Vista/Win7 users:

The actually available Win7 Build 7068 does contain brandnew nForce IDE drivers v10.6.0.14 dated 02/26/2009.
According to the INF file entries these drivers should support all nForce chipsets from NF4 up - contrary to NVIDIA's latest nForce IDE drivers v10.3.0.42 and 10.3.0.46, which are within the 15.23/15.24/15.25/15.26 driverpacks.

Here are the download links:
32bit version: http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?yimltih0uzz
64bit version: http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?2ov17yqy1gt

Please post your feedback here!

Have fun!

Maybe good news for NF4 RAID users:

The RC1 version (= build 7100) of Windows 7 does contain updated nForce IDE drivers v10.6.0.15 dated 04/03/2009.

The interesting question will be, if Windows 7 RC1 can now be installed onto all nForce4 AMD/Intel RAID systems.

You will find the download links - as far as available - within the first post of this thread.

Please report here about your experiences with these new drivers.

Regards
Fernando

A pretty subjective opinion, but these latest drivers seem snappier to me. Running Windows 7 Ultimate, build 7100.

Hi Fernando,

After reading your hopefull post about performing a clean install without any additional drivers, I downloaded the Windows 7 X86 RC1 Build7100 ISO and burn't a fresh DVD, then proceeded to boot from the DVD.

However the setup can only see the discs in my RAID Array and I still had to load the SATA_IDE driver v9.98 to partition/format my RAID Array and complete the install.

My setup is as follows:

DFI LANPARTY UT NF4 SLI-DR Venus
4 x WD 74GB Raptors in Raid0(32KB Stripe)

Regards,

endo.
