I have a new ASUS M2N32-SLI Deluxe Wireless, got it up and going on Windows XP Home, booting to a PATA hard drive.

Then I put in an array of SATA drives, configured the bios for them, did the thing in the nVidia raid setup, like I have done before, then booted, and some hardware found dialogs popped up for the new drives. I took one of them and followed it through, (OK, it was dumb), dismissed the other hardware found popups, and on reboot during black screen it says Windows cannot start because a file, \Windows\Drivers\nvstor32.sys is missing or corrupt. It is not missing, must be wrong version or something. It says to boot to the Windows CD, hit R to repair. That puts me into Recovery mode with a DOS prompt.

What do I do?

i had this problem running a Western Digital 250GB with my board, it kept corrupting and in the end i gave up and bought a Hitachi 250GB.

The 250GB is now working on my partners PC great on his MSI board.

mine i think was a compatibility issue.

I could not get the machine to boot, even after replacing the offending file from within the LASTGOOD folder (using Recovery mode from Windows disk), or after doing a Windows Repair, so I ended up reloading Windows XP. After reloading, I canceled the 'Found new hardware' popups associated with my hard drives until I had two arrays set up (6 drives total) and after loading the nVidia RAID driver from the motherboard CD it recognized the arrays and worked. Neither array was bootable; I booted to the single PATA drive as before.
