I have modified the INFs of the IDE drivers below to include support for those NF2 boards that have NVRAID:

Please go to my Google page: http://nf2.stuff.googlepages.com/
or eSnips directory: http://www.esnips.com/web/nf123xp

for NVRAID IDE drivers for NF2 and NF3 boards.

According to server stats, the NRM Ethernet and NVRAID IDE drivers have been downloaded dozens of times. I assume they are working because nobody has come here to chew me out :o . Anyways, I've created a remix w/ all latest known drivers that should work for NF2 boards w/ NRM (Gigabit) Ethernet and/or NVRAID and all NF3 boards (46MB):

See first post for download links.

Code: Select all
Audio driver version 4.66 (beta)
Audio utility version 4.51
PreNRM ethernet driver version 5.38 (beta)
NRM ethernet driver version 67.72 (beta)
Network management tools version 67.67
GART driver version 4.40 (beta)
Memory controller driver version 4.40 (beta)
SMBus driver version 4.62 (WHQL)
Installer version 4.46 (International)
SATA RAID driver version 6.99 (beta)
SATA/PATA IDE driver version 6.99 (beta)
RAIDTOOL application version 6.95

It will work for NF1 and NF2 boards w/ PreNRM (10/100) Ethernet and basic NV IDE controller (no NVRAID). But these boards don't need such a large package, the much smaller ones in my first post will be sufficient. A latest WHQL-only version of the above will follow in a few days.

"NVlatestNF23Remix" is uploading right now, I had to make a small change. But looking at your sig, you have an Abit NF7-S rev2.0. You don't need this 46MB package because your board doesn't have Gigabit Ethernet or NVRAID. Just download the 9MB "NVlatestRemix" in my original post; that one will work for your board.

To AdvModDev:

Hey sorry for my late answer. I have tested your latest drivers 04/14/2006 50.2.5 v6.86 up to 11/17/2007, 67.7.2.

No one of these drivers works for me. The driver 50.2.5 restarts my system @ installation with bluescreen the driver 67.7.2 i can install, but not use (This device cannot start. (Code 10) :-( (i have uninstalled all previous versions)

I go back to driver 4.8.2

First I want to congratulate you on trying to create a new Windows XP Remix package for nForce 2 and nForce 3 chipset mainboard owners (nForce 1 is negligible). There is really a need for this task, because Squall and Mei obviously have stopped their Remix projects.

By the way: What does the word "beta" in your package component list mean? Did you use it similar with "modded"?
The original nForce IDE drivers v.6.99 published by Fujitsu-Siemens for example are WHQL signed and no Beta drivers.

Good luck!
Fernando

Did you try 67.64, 67.49, and 67.15 that I just uploaded this morning? 67.15 is identical to 4.82 in files and INF. 50.25 in the 6.86 package from NV does include the deviceIDs for your board but they forgot to include them in the second INF "nvnetbus". That is why your system restarted because it never installed the nvnetbus.sys file.

But thanks for testing. I'm confident that I can find a driver newer than the ancient 4.82 that will work. But try 67.15 if you haven't already. If you have, then I'll mod 50.25 properly and upload it for you to try again. Let me know.

There were also reports of problems w/ Ethernet 67.72 & 67.67 in Fernando's NF4-7 thread so I have removed the links to those drivers as well as the remix (because it included 67.72). These 2 drivers are probably meant only for NF6-7. I have also removed Squall's 65.44 because apparently xero84 couldn't get that one to work either. I'm not sure if he tried 67.64, 67.49, and 67.15 yet because I just uploaded and posted them here a few hours ago.

Anyways, I never uploaded or posted 50.25 so he must have tried that one on his own. But, again, NV screwed that one up by not including matching IDs in "nvnetbus.inf". So I have corrected it...and this driver has to work because NF2-3 deviceIDs were already in the other INF (nvenetfd.inf), unlike all the other Ethernet drivers I've uploaded:

Please go to my Google page: http://nf2.stuff.googlepages.com/
or eSnips directory: http://www.esnips.com/web/nf123xp

for Gigabit NRM Ethernet drivers for NF2 and NF3 boards.

If 50.25 works then I'll replace 67.72 with it in the remix. But I'll wait for xero84 to post back before doing anything else.

about the memory driver

Postby beanerweiner » Tue Feb 12, 2008 11:25 pm

wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!read bottom first cause i figured out my problem, so for anyone else who runs into the same problem can fix it.

im having a problem installing the memory driver. How do i do it? I have an an7 nforce2 motherboard by abit and i selectively chose all my individual drivers to use. So i have yet to add a memory driver i guess and the gart driver which im unsure if these have been already added to my system or not. My Device Manager isnt reporting anything missing, it isnt reporting any problems. I dont want to install one of your driver packs since i already have my ethernet setup and my raid.

So i need to know if you could tell me either how to install both the gart driver and memory driver that i downloaded from your nf123xp site.

Or tell me how to find out if they are already installed? Thank you so much for having these drivers available for everyone. Its a great job you are doing!

i have xp pro service pack 1 installed and i also downloaded NVmem440.zip and NVgart440.zip just so you know. And thank you in advance!!!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I downloaded NVlatestWhqlRemix.zip extracted everything then deleted the folders ,ethernet, audio etc basically the ones i didnt want. I left the GART,memory control etc and hit setup. It works, there were a couple of boxes with checkmarks next to the mem, gart etc. Well im thinking now, i dont have to delete any folders, i just have to uncheck what i dont want. But i didnt know that was an option until after i deleted the folders and ran the proggie. So this was all just a worthless babble.

To be honest, the only reason there's support for NF3 at all is because some obscure NF2 boards also happen to have the same Gigabit NRM Ethernet and NVRAID. I've never really liked the idea of remixes in the first place, because not all configs are the same and some prefer older or WHQL-only drivers. I originally setup a directory at farvista to upload only my modded IDE drivers since NV stopped supporting NF2 IDE after v4.46. Then I ended up uploading all the individual drivers that I've ever tested on my NF2 machines. But I figure with WinXP SP3 looming, there's gonna be demand soon for a "latest remix" for people who want to slipstream or reformat.

Beta just means people can expect to get "unsigned driver" popups during install. Like I said above, IDE driver support abruptly stopped after 4.46 WHQL. Every IDE release since then (whether originally WHQL or not) has to be modified inorder to work for NF2. Some drivers were beta status to begin with and needed no mod to work (such as mem and GART).
