I have just received my Asrock Dual 939 NF4 [EDIT] This should not read NF4 [EDIT] as it isn't Nvidia based at all motherbopard. It will most likely be coupled with a Venice 3500 CPU and 2X512MB Revision 2 OCZ 3200 (TCCD) and was just over to Nvidia to see which chipset drivers would be the most appropriate for the setup. I'll be running Win XP 32bit SP2 and just noticed I had several choices as far as drivers are concerned.
Do I go with NF4 AMD, NF4 430/410 or NF4 AMD/Intel X16? I've never seen so many choices and that isn't all of them. What are the 430/410s? I'm presuming I'd be useing the NF4 AMD drivers but just want to make certain before I undertake the install. Would the newest drivers be best for the Asrock dual or an older release chipset driver?

the 430/410 drivers are for the nforce boards with those geforce 6's built in. You wont need those.
The x16 drivers are newer drivers as far as the network drivers, NAM etc.. go. They will work fine on your system.
However the 6.70 drivers are the latest released for the non x16 nforce 4 chipsets. Thats the one i would use...although like i said earlier the 6.82 x16 drivers will work fine as well.
Just whatever you do dont install Network Access Manager. You will have nothing but problems |

Thanks jeremym I'll keep the network drivers in mind. What exactly is the "network access driver"? Is it simply the onboard lan driver with a fancy name? I haven't had a peek on the supplied install disc as of yet. Is NAM on the install disc or part of the Nvidia downloadable bundle?
I always tend to stay well clear of the NV IDE drivers and I'm fairly certain I'll be useing a single SATA drive for my initial OS install (XP32SP2). Are there any other pitfalls you're aware of at this point with the initial setup of the Arock Duals? |

| I'm feeling kinda thick right now. I've been on the Nvidia chipset driver bandwagon for so long now I actually forgot there were other chipsets available namely the ULI on the board I'm referring to. It was politely brought to my attention that there is NOTHING Nvidia on this motherboard. Guess I was way off course in this quest. |

ah yea your right. I didnt look up the board because you said it was an NF4 board It is a ULI board after looking at it on arocks site.
Post back about that board once you test it out. I am curious to know how that chipset works out for you. |

Why then does NVidia have drivers for NF4 Vanilla Intel and NF4 Vanilla AMD, when there is one single set of "NF4 X16 AMD+Intel" that work on the two first?
