RedDwarf

i have red the hole topic trough, and some people seem to have probs with downloading the Uber style BIOS from your link. So here is my question:
May/can i host also your BIOS versions ?

when your answer is yes, i will post the download link here

I'll get back to you on that, they all work now, I entered a wrong URL for a couple of them initially which stopped them working.

Thats just the regular 1008 Bios with the hidden options made available and the new SATA Bios added, so it has CPC Enabled (On).

The ones with "mod" in the filename are the ones originally done by trats but mine identify the mobile Athlons correctly with the original mobile identifier and it doesn't matter what speed the CPU is running at it still gives the same identifier, trats Bios doesn't, if you clock your CPU low (600MHz or similar) it gives a different name to the CPU than it does if it is running fast (2000MHz). Plus my Bios has all the options visible as trats missed a few. Apart from those things they are identical as I modified trats modified Bios. The SATA boot just has the third boot item set as SCSI by default for people who boot from SATA.

Hi,
i read a while your entire posts & first of all thank you for your hard work on your nice BIOS'.

I forgot to mention that I changed the Bios title to ....ASUS A7N8X2.0 Deluxe ACPI BIOS Rev 1008 Uber style. Is it worth keeping like this or would it be better to keep it as it was, at least that way if anyone has to send the board back to Asus with this Bios installed then they might not notice any changes from the standard 1008 whereas with the altered title they might, what does anyone think about this?

I think nobady has answered it yet? Or overread i somthg?
-> very good Idea! You should always do so. Plz leave the original name for the mentioned reason
Next thing i like to mention is, that i noticed a possible change in the original Bios Date.
I just flashed to your actual BIOS' and noticed that my original ASUS BIOS is dated to 2004-08-04. your BIOS' date is dated to 2004-07-28 (Y-M-D). Did Asus do a hidden update, or am i wrong?

Next thing: If you need a host for your BIOS' files lemme know!
Recently i find another bios from a sk site. it was a version for the 1007. it's located here: http://www.pretaktovanie.sk/download/biosy/1007-rev2.0x.zip
the info's:
Code: Select all
BIOS rev. 1007d1

Changes/fix:

- unhidden some menu in SETUP ( ale Uber BIOS)
- updated SIL3112/A BIOS to ver. 4.2.47
- updated AWDFLASH.EXE to ver.i 8.32
- update BPL to 3.19 with CPC OFF + ROMSIP modification
- changed some northbridge registers (S2K control probe limit, XCAARB_RD/WRCOUNT, DQSEN_PULL_B, Auto Refresh Cycle Time, Read-to-Read Command Latency, Pre-charge All Command )

This bioses is intended for overclockers, FSB 230-250MHz no PROBLEM with this bioses. Better stability, better settings NB

As i have no plan of coding BIOS', but perhaps something from it can help at your work? FSB 230-250 sounds nice, he?

Best wishes Nordstern

Sorry, I'm NOT swedish too. (BTW: sk=slovak?, swedish=se?)I was linked to that file by a german forum. I was searching for the author too, intended to find a 1008 version of this mod. FSB 250 sounds nice, ain't it? i could test it anyway, cos my new RAM will arrive next week... The actual isn't able to reach that far.

OOps  but my slovakian is even worse then my swedish. Maybe someone on this board knows what those guys changed on that bios and can explain it to us...? Or better do the same with the newer bios and post it here... :D
