BIOS can't detect my HDD

Hi there

I have the problam that if I start my computer it starts up normally but freezes at "detecting ide drives..." yesterday it happened again and i left my pc running and went to take a shower. as i came back I was in the bios but still can't boot.
it is only one hdd. i already tryed taking out the batterie of the bios to reset it but same problem.

my sys:
amd athlon xp 3000
msi k7n2 delta2 platinum
western digital 120 gb

reseat the cable and power connection on the hd. if there is a jumper on the wd drive, remove it.

is the drive making an odd or new noises?

have you added any new rom drives to the other channel?

nervermind ... I alredy solved the problem. It was because of the 7950GT. I have to connect the hdd to an other molex and that's it.
