I want to install the drivers posted in another section of this forum on my Linux box in hopes that it fixes my problems with the ethernet controller on the MCP51 board.
I was wondering if anyone has experience doing that with NDISWrapper and if they can give me any hints I might need to avoid problems while doing this. Also, I think it's worth noting that I've used Envy to install the graphics drivers, would that cause problems? (Ubuntu 8.04) |

What? I didn't know that ndiswrapper even supported wired ethernet devices.
In any case, I could've sworn that the kernel had a reverse engineered module for nForce ethernet ever since the early '00. |

What are the problems your having? I've installed ubuntu on a bunch of different machines without issue. It just works. I don't see any reason it wouldn't work with your board.
The only issue I've ever had with ubuntu was with my Fatal1ty Extreme gamer sound card. But there is a work around for it, and it's working like a charm.

| My ethernet connection does not work properly in Ubuntu, so I'm trying to find ways to fix it. NDISWrapper is made for wireless cards, but if you read their website, you will find that it can work for other drivers as well. |

What is the model of your motherboard?
Also, open up a terminal, and type 'dmesg' without the quotes, and post the output here, that'll help us help you.
Then type 'lspci' and post the ouput here too.
I don't think you'll have to use ndiswrapper. |
