They just released a new bios version 5.4 for both boards. I'm unsure about other boards. But here is the link. I'm wondering what they changed.

Did you try the delay time yet NV2000?

I looked into the bios of Abit and Asus mobos that have nforce2 chipsets and their delay time is the same as MSI's mobo.
These mobos from Abit and Asus never had an agp8x problem with fx5800-5900.

Are you sure it's the delay time? If it is, in which value do you think it should be?

It can't be that then if other boards are the same. Try the new 5.4 bios or the 7.4 depending on which board you have. See what happens. I did notice a change in the new bios that deals with onboard video.

I have already flashed 7.4 which doesn't fix the problem.

I want to see what changes they made from 7.2 to 7.4 . Really curious about it... If they have not made any significant changes, then how can they say "fixed fx5800-5900 compatibility issue".

Many people still have this problem even with 7.4 bios.

It should work. Mine is working like a champ now. Even my old 5200ultra got a FPS increase now where even that would stutter like a dog on 8X. I unhid all the options using modbin6 again because MSI just insist on keeping that serial port 2 on by default!! They did make a change to it ut im not sure where yet.

Try resetting cmos with the jumper (it's located just above the ide connectors) after you flash. Then set the jumper for safe mode and get into the bios. Select the option to reset to bios defaults. Reboot, then get into bios again and make your changes. Reboot and put the jumper you just set for safe mode back to user mode. Sometimes setting the bios to it's defaults makes a big difference. I had to do this when I went to DDR400 using bios 5.1 and upgrading to 5.2.

If there is enough interest in me unhiding the options in the latest bios again I'll post them up for others to download. Since msi still insist on keeping that serial port2 hidden!!!

Changing the usb and onboard lan irq's is impossible with this bios. If I change it, it will just end up sharing an irq with something else so why bother. To bad we can't have the option of which irq to use atleast.
