|
|
|
I just connected by Lanparty NF4 SLI-D box to a procurve gigabit switch via my Nforce LAN connection, which promptly crapped out. I enabled the Marvell Lan and hooked it up but it only shows 100 speed, not 1000. In the driver speed options besides auto-sense it shows only 10/100 options. Both the switch and the lan status show a connection at 100. Am I missing something? For the 10 minutes the nforce lan connection worked, it connected at 1000. I'm going to try to trouble shoot the nforce connection as well, but wondered why I'm not seeing gigabit connection through the Marvell (I have updated to the latest Marvell driver btw).
Thanks for you help |

| Shows it as a generic Marvell Yukon ethernet connection. Advanced Tab speed options are only 10 and 100 hd/fd + autosense. Latest Marvell Driver. Doesn't make sense! |

Generic huh?
Then I'd question the driver. If you D/L'd the driver from Marvell and you're using Windows the correct version should be v8.56.2.3 . It would have been enumerated correctly if you'd have used the correct driver.
Go HERE at Marvell and in the Keyword Search box enter 88E8001 and press Enter. The Windows drivers will be on the 2nd page.
Or get the latest one DFI offered for Win2K/XP(32bit!) HERE; v7.29, Dated Feb 25 2005, 7,786,037 bytes.
Uninstall through Device Manager or however and the run the exe from the file D/L'd from above. |

| Not 8.61.2.3 [Yukon x86 Windows XP]? That is what I have installed and what shows up in Device Manager. Should I be using the 8.56.7.3 [Yukon Windows 32 bit installer] instead? I also notice that the drivers on the earlier download pages refer to GigE, while the ones on the second page do not. |

If you already have the Driver ONLY file "yk51x86_v86123.zip" and have tried Updating through Device Mgr with this driver, then yea, I'd grab the latest Installer version(read below to uninstall), execute to install, and see if it'll re/over-write what I believe is hosed in your Registry.
Uninstall it first though via Dev Mgr, reboot, but do not let it assign any drivers to it. Once cancelling past the "Let us install a driver ..." boxes, run the Installer. |

| After uninstall and reboot it doesn't give me the option to stop driver install and it reinstalls the current driver. |

Eh, if it was me at this point and having my fill of this sh** I'd cross my fingers and just run the executable installer in the hopes it fixes itself.
