Login Problems

I'm not sure if anyone else is experiencing this, everytime i log on to nforcershq my last visit time is the same as log in time so there is never any new topics since last visit.

Sometimes after I've logged in, with my avatar showing bottom left and username in row along with other users, I'm still Welcome Guest and have to log in again.

Is this a cookie problem? Same thing happens on FireFox, IE and Nescape browser even after deleting all cookies clearing cache.

I've had this glitch on occasion, but not recently. It's bloody annoying.

As long as your browser's set up to accept cookies from here (just normal settings) you shouldn't have any problems logging in, unless your ISP uses dynamic IP addresses. As you're having trouble with all browser flavours, I'd guess that's where the problem lies.

If your regular (or occassional) ISP uses dynamic IP addressing, eg AOL, the forum can't keep track of you, and then you'll likely have problems. This is phpbb's way of making sure users are who they say they are and their sessions aren't hijacked by someone else.

I could lessen the built-in checks so those with issues always stayed logged in, but that would lower the level of security for all users which, I hope you understand, I can't do.

Is this the only phpbb-based forum you have login problems with? Have you tried connecting using another ISP?
