Hello to all,
I followed procedure explained above without problems but now when I try to force my ethernet card to 100MB/ Full Duplex, I've got a hard reset of the PC ... :(
the ethernet driver is the one from 6.70 NF4 package, mobo asus k8N.
Have you some clues on this problem ?
How to force the setting in the registry ?
thank you for help.
BZ.

Welcome to NFHQ! :)

Does the same happen when you use the official ethernet driver?

Hi,
nope, before with the normal 5.10, I was able to change Ethernet settings without problem, other question, I don't find the IRQ allocated to the ethernet card in the control panel... quite strange ?

It's a bad sign if no IRQ is assigned... Is there an exclamation mark for the ethernet controller in device manager?
I suggest to go back to the official 5.10 driver.

nope, no question mark on control panel but when I check irq allocated, I didn't find one for ethernet card...
Originally, I was looking for a solution for a problem I've got on BF2 but maybe it's better to come back to 5.10 driver, I'm gonna check this evening.
thanks for help.

nforce3 users, the day has come... :D

The only difference compared to 5.10 is the updated ethernet driver and NAM. They took basically the driver out of the nforce4 drivers... This reminds me of something :D

Oh good greif! They didn't even update the audio driver (4.42 vs 4.62)? And the SATA RAID isn't touched, no RAIDTOOL application, etc. Comparing the NF4 and NF3 driver versions makes me a little upset. Pretty darned minimal effort on their part. Looks like they read your post, lamed it down, and made it an official release. I wonder how many hours they billed to the "Make New Driver Package" charge code?
Not impressed, not at all.

So ... am I reading this thread right? Do the new 5.11 drivers for Nforce3 boards mean we don't have to mess around with Nforce4 releases to get the best drivers for our boards?

Or are we still missing out and still need to follow unbreakable's instructions?

Short answer.. yes.
However:
Mr. Smith wrote:Or are we still missing out and still need to follow unbreakable's instructions?

Brief background:
'Messing around' with component parts of UDPs is what a lot of people do to get the 'optimum' set-up for their enthusiast rig, regardless of what Nforce version it is. Some take it further still and 'remix' to create a complete package specifically for their own rig.

Amongst all this.. the ranting and raving about NV driver development can often cloud any 'real' issues.. choice is yours
