2 stupid threads in just a few days- yes i am officially dumb.
This is the newest Version of the Chipset Drivers for nForce4 Intel Mainboards.
Do not install unless you have an nForce4 driven Mainboard with Intel CPU.
Stupid Betanews naming.

1. You won't get any Audio driver, if you follow the download links. This is a big fault made by FileForum BetaNews.
2. As you have already realized, the linked nForce chipset driver packs v15.17 do not support NF1-3 chipsets. |

For some reason the installer doesn't work for me.It launches the first part, then as soon as it loads the first bar where it should practically launch the installation program, nothing happens...
Is there a way to fix this?

AdvModDev, who started this thread and has built these Remix packs, hasn't been here for a while.
Maybe you have better chances to get an answer, if you send him a PM. |

| I only use drivers (and installers) that were specifically compiled for WinXP and the NF2 chipsets. My reasoning is simply to be "safe". Audio driver v4.66 is a Vista driver. Ethernet driver v5.38 is actually an "NRM" driver intended for NF3 and up Ethernet controllers (our NF2 boards have "PreNRM" ethernet controllers). The installer v4.46 is the same one used in the last official NF2 chipset package v5.10 from NV and works fine. |
I guess i've been absent awhile huh.
anyway, while 4.66 is included in the Vista drivers, there is no issues with it on XP, and so far it fixes the issue people had with the 4.65 drivers causing a huge systemhive.
XP and Vista both share the same WDM audio driver format, so any driver compatible with Vista should infact work on XP. |

V4.36 is the last proper working one indeed.
But functionality is completely unaffected by certification. The 4.71 is buggy. You can render the digital signature of v4.36 invalid by changing just one byte in v4.36 to get a proof. |

SYMPTOMS
If you have a network device driver with an unsigned co-installer and you use the Windows XP operating system, you cannot disable or enable the device from the Network Connections folder (that is, you cannot right-click the device and then click Enable/Disable).
You can, however, enable or disable the device from the Device Manager.
CAUSE
The Device Manager runs in the logged-on user context and is, therefore, allowed to disable or enable devices with unsigned co-installers. However, the request from the Network Connections folder to enable or disable devices is sent to a LocalSystem service, which is not allowed to enable or disable devices because an unsigned co-installer cannot be trusted to run in the logged-on user context.
STATUS
This behavior is by design.
