The new installer from AVG gives you an option to just not install it. If you install it, and then disable it, AVG constantly reports in error status. It still works, it's just annoying. I'm happy that they now have the option to just not even use it.

Greetings!

You dont disable the LinkScanner in AVG configurations, you just disable the LinkScanner in Firefox add-ons. No error status report.
