| when my computer boots up i get a display right up untill after the xp loading bar where the display then disappears, yet i know the computer continues to function as the login sound starts etc, how to i solve this? |

press F8 before you get the windows loading screen. you should get a box up which is like a list of options.
one of those options should be called "Enable VGA mode".
Try that, it should default the video settings and allow you to boot. if this doesnt fix it, or the same problem happens again post back |

on the gateway support site it states:
Add-in Card Slots ::
One PCI Express ×16 (graphics interface)

Two PCI conventional

so yeah, any PCIE graphics card will work with your pc.
however i would probably got for a top of the line ATI card since that machine uses an ATI motherboard, or get 2 mid range cards for XFire ;D
either way, a top range ATI card should be able to take advantage of the integrated HD3200 and atleast give you a hybrid graphics solution to play around with.
(p.s. that's not actually a bad machine; even if it is pre-built ;p) |

lets hope the psu will cope with the added load
and is not marginal to just about run whats in it now |
