Hi all newbie here.

Just upgraded my pc and have the following problem with memory.

Gigabyte GA-MA78G-DS3H Boots ok with one memory module but wont boot when both matched pairs are installed in slots. (Red or yellow)
one will work in any of the four slots proving the modules are both ok.

AMD Athlon 64x2 dual core 5200+ mmx 3dnow ~2.7ghz
Corsair vaue select ddr2 4gb 2x2gb 667 mhz
Maxtor 250gb s/sata2 7200rpm 8mb cache sata 300
bios award modular v6.00pg
O/S Windows XPPro SP2 build 2600 5.1

Any help/advice please Crying or Very sad

check the rattings bios is setting it at

try a tiny up on vdimm

just changed the psu over to 550wat and still no difference. Did have a 400watt. Had a suggestion from a mate who said check you have baught dual channel DDR2 !! I am going to check.

thats just a marketing term

so long as they are the same there should not be a problem

problem can be were a maker mixes chips on ram dimms

that are then sold under one label
