ok. . .o bought disk with s ata 2 and i know that my main board support only sata 1 but i heard that if i buy sata 2 disk that it will work on my board cause every sata 2 disk works on sata 1 .. .


my disk is hdd wd caviar 320 gb, serial ata ii-300, 7200o/min


pls help me i tried everything i tried with jumpers but nothing . ..

jumpering it to sata 1 should work

pls can you tell me how to jumper it to sata 1 .. cause i cant find position for jumper to downgrade it to sata 1 . . . i tried every vertically position . . with jumper .. but nothing. . . . cause i have ::::: and i tried every position . . but nothing. . .

i tired [:][:][:][:][:] every position like on the picture but nothing . .. won't recognize it . ..

and one more thing . .. is this somehow connected to raid controllers . . cause i 've found some tutorial . on the internet about sata 2 . .and nforce 2 chipset . .. and there was something while booting pres F4 for raid controllesr but my computer won't recognize this and i cant enter setup for raid . . . .

i put jumpers like on the picture on 5 and 6 but nothing. . .

i dont have disk boot prioriti i have first boot device second boot device third boot device i put on first boot device sata but nothing. . . .

and i dont have settings for onboard sata . . . and yes in integrated peripherals ''onboard pci device'' both serial ata controller and sata raid rom is enable . .. .

while booting i pres f to setup raid controller and i cant do a thing there something about single drive . . something like that ..

an i installed SATA raid controllers .. . from cd which i got from my mother board . .and in settings of sata raid i see my hdd and i see around 320gb . . .bit i cant see it in .. my computer . .or in norton commander . . . or in windows explorer

a friend of mine had a similar problem with an ASUS board that only had SATA I and a Samsung 500GB SATA II, the only way he could get it to recognise the drive and install was to change in the bios the SATA from IDE to Raid mode.

i read about that this might help . .. and i flashed bios but i flashed with wrong bios. and now my computer wont even start . . .. nothing . .. blank screen . .. no signal . . .
