Just seen a PC World ad on TV tonight and it seems that PCW are now pushing Kaspersky AV rather than Norton.
Wonder if thats due to the amount of kit that gets returned to them due to that awful Norton AV?
At least Kaspersky is a step in the right direction if they feel thay have to sell AV. |

Thank goodness...
Why oh why Norton ever built a reputation for being something you want installed on your PC, I will never know...

| I agree, Sophos would be a good choice, though it might feel a bit too corporate for most users (especially users that visit PC World in general...!). |

Well I have to say from my usage of Norton at work...
Some versions are definately worse than others. The latest one actually seems half decent, although obviously being at work I didn't try heavy usage. |

latest version of Norton 360 brought a friends pc to a grinding hault using so much system resources.
She has a P4 2.8Ghz. 768mb DDR 333 ram, 160GB Hard disk, 32mb AGP Graphics running windows XP Home. |

I'd be far more willing to use Microsofts AV than Nortons anyway. I'm sure it's not as comprehensive but I'll die of shock if it doesn't work better overall.
Got no complaints with AVG8 though now that Linkscanner isn't being a pain anymore.
When I was dumb enough to install NVIDIAs Forceware network tools from 15.17 though.....woof
They should just...stop including those in the driver packs and pretend it never existed. Would cause me less pain. |

Not PS3 though, it already uses Trend Micro for the browser. |

Norton 360 is a set of apps that focus on PC security and maintenance, nothing to do with the console.
So basically, it's Norton Live OneCare |
