computer specs:
Asus A8N32-SLI Deluxe
Opteron 170 (overclocked to 2.4ghz)
4gb (4x1gb) ddr500
PNY 8600GT
Windows Vista x64
My computer goes to sleep just fine... but when I wake it up, the video does not post. The computer (fans, hard drives, etc) seem to power up just fine... but I don't think it's waking up. I enabled remote desktop and I cannot connect to it after waking it up (does not reply to ping either). I have to restart it. As stated above, I do have it overclocked... but same thing happens even if I set everything to default values. The only way I can get it to work is to disable the 'Hardware memory hole' option in the bios. But disabling that option will only leave me with 3GB usable memory.
I have the latest drivers // updates // etc. Has anyone ever gotten Vista to sleep and wake up successfully with 4GB of memory?
Thanks in advance! |

slow4runner can you tell which nforce driver you were using?
I am using nforce 15.17 released 2008 Jun 9th
I just found out this nforce driver has been pulled from the nvidia.com download site.

| I have the same problem goes to sleep doesn't wake up. When I wake the PC the fans all start up look like its going to post but never does (just a black screen). I hold in the power button to restart and then the computer will resume and works fine. Started when I installed 4gb RAM and enable memory hole. I am using the last version (not the ones that just came out) of nvidia drivers on vista x64. I have two MSI 8500 GT OC in SLI mode. Taking one out doesn't make a difference. I wish there was a solution to this because this is the only problem I have with x64 vista. My reliability score is almost perfect 9.89 (would be perfect except flickr uploader crashed). |
