Surprised
nVidia has a partnership with VIA, right?

Yep, and it's starting to look pretty peachy for them in that mobile/low power market. They seem to have the lowest power consumption IGP also :-

Twin that with an Isaiah CPU and you have one heck of a basis for a low power mini PC/Laptop that would put an Eee PC to shame.

Centaur Technology

Have you ever heard of Centaur Technology? You might not have, but as a wholly owned subsidiary of VIA, Centaur Technology, has spent years designing high performance, x86 compatible microprocessors. Centaur Technology has been in the news a lot this year with the announcement of the VIA Isaiah Architecture. The 65 nanometer Isaiah processor was designed with performance per watt in mind and is taken the market by storm since VIA started showing off performance numbers just a few months ago. The main competition for the VIA Isaiah processor would be the Intel Atom processor, which Isaiah is very competitive with. Not bad for a company based in Austin, Texas that has a group of 100 engineers and microprocessor designers!

It looks like the Isaiah will give the Atom a good beating, both for outright performance and performance-per-watt.

It'll unlikely be cost competitive with the Atom though, I doubt anything will be for a while, plus dual core Atoms and the Poulsbo chipset are on their way. But Isaiah + Nvidia still sounds like a great mobile combo.
