Cool and quiet support is forked on these boards under Vista..

So I tried the Beta Bios F12m from the Gigabyte German forum and they just resulted in BIOS CHECKSUM ERROR - SETTINGS RESTORED TO FACTORY DEFAULT, IF YOU HAVE SATA HDD PLEASE CHECK BOOT SETTING.

Vista just wouldnt boot or if it did it was unstable and would go at any time.

Anyway I emailed tech support who told me to try F12m and gave me the link, again the same problem since he probably sent me the same file..

So I email back and now I'm running F12N which is running stable as a rock with the updated NVRAID, Marvell PXE ROM, SIL ROM BIOs as well as Cool and quiet support under Vista.. (You can disable/enable from BIOS) it also supports 4g SW/HW mem remapping.

Its a nice BIOS so if you need it hit me up here or email Gigabyte support... Its a must for Vista.

I also use this bios with vista x64 and the CnQ works, but i can't see the hard drive temps and S.M.A.R.T datas. Try lot of monitoring programs but ... Sad

hmm, this is not an board issue. there is no Nvidia drivers existing which would show S.M.A.R.T. under Vista x64.

You would need 'Standard IDE Controller' to get S.M.A.R.T. or XP drivers.
