Going to do this easier this time because the idiotic slow ASUS keeps bushing something even more idiotic online like "anysystem 45-100MB" drivers while their servers doesn't seem to be capable time to time even sending 2MB files.
So, as for result I am going to split the latest by system and include original link who ever wants it. All where needed hotfixes are included separately and Vista/7 has updated OpenAL with them inside *Host OpenAL ADI* usual installation.
The drivers however are unmodified (I am going to include how to modify the newest for your chipset below so ASUS/Sonic Focus usual setup.exe will work straight up). However, you will lose the WHQL tag in process. However, there is 'installation.txt' included for manual update the idea is, if you forcefully update over the original it will be WHQL and functional.

NOTE: Above drivers are for ADI 1989B ONLY to get them working with your SoundMAX you need to edit 'Platform.cfg' and 'ADIHdAud.inf' and include your ADI chipset as follows:
1. Open Device Manager > 'Sound, Video and Game Controllers' > find the 'High Definition Audio Device' or 'SoundMAX HD Codec'> Properties > Details > 'Hardware Ids'-drop down box
Example: if your Hardware ID is: HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_
11D4&DEV_
198B&SUBSYS_
1043829C2. You would open 'Platform.cfg' and add:
- Code: Select all
[11D4989B-10438334]
JSense=0
DisplayFinishRebootDialog=1
[11D4198B-1043829C]
JSense=0
DisplayFinishRebootDialog=0
(added 1 entry as [] topic)
3. Then open 'ADIHdAud.inf' and add:
- Code: Select all
[AnalogDevices.NTamd64]
%HdAudioFunctionDriver.ADICodec.DeviceDesc% = A1989B, HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_11D4&DEV_989B&SUBSYS_10438334
%HdAudioFunctionDriver.ADICodec.DeviceDesc% = A1989B, HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_11D4&DEV_198B&SUBSYS_1043829C
(added 1 line as in full hardware ID utilizing A1989B setups which is pretty much same as in all chips as what goes to speakers.)
4. Install the driver as in 'installation.txt' or as usual.

Tested the new drivers both will work on all systems except XP (but scroll down 5.x series are for XP/XP64. New drivers seems to also correlate the SoundMAX PnP & the ADI filter, but I still suggest that you get the newest OpenAL driver to the new SoundMAX drivers extract the 'EAX' with WinRAR and copy over 'OALINST package' because this fixes most of game sounds using old one is just bad idea.)
----------------------Okay, everything is now redone. because ASUS updated their servers, folder naming & literally everything. I simply rewrote the checked URLs. Should be fine again, if you find an broken link please let me know as soon as possible.
NOTE: New drivers we will be seeing will more likely next be unique OS based drivers and not really new. There is no new drivers out there according to couple main manufacturers and usage suggestions are on last message on this post as usual.
Before you InstallYou don't need whole SoundMAX Control Panels. You don't need speaker detections which are biggest failure ever on these. So, my advice to you is to install the driver manually on your Device Manager & 'special' installing the 'Host OpenAL (ADI).exe' which comes with every driver (XP Exception) and remove the extra forced services by SoundMAX while updating driver controlling the device entirely from Windows Control Panel > Sound (options).
Setup driver Process Windows Vista/Windows 7 - 32-bit/x86 and 64-bit/x64:
1. Open your Device Manager
2. Locate Sound, Video and Game Controllers
3. right click the sound card > 'Update Driver Software..' > 'Browse Computer for My Software' > 'Let me Pick from a list of device drivers on my Computer' > 'Have Disk...' > Now Browse and locate inside the SoundMAX driver folder "\amd64\Vista"-for x64 systems OR "\i386\Vista"-for x86 systems > OK > Install the driver > Do not reboot when asked.
4. Do Not reboot > Wait for 30 seconds. > If there is no sounds in box now there won't be any after reboot (, If there is then skip to step 5) > Uninstall the SoundMAX driver (and delete driver software) > Right Click 'sound, video and game controllers' > 'Scan for Hardware Changes' > it will find the 'Windows HD Audio driver' > Repeat process 1-5 with other SoundMAX drivers or Modify the driver as written in below messages.
5. Open 'regedit' > HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run > delete the 'smax4pnp.exe' Entry.
Note: If I somehow got mistaken which registry key it's at look at these keys if it's not there:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Wow6432Node\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
6. Open/Run 'Services.msc' > Stop and Disable 'Andrea ADI Filters Service'.
7. Reboot.
8. Configure your speakers from > Control Panel > Sound (Right click the speakers you're using first & Configure Speakers) > Double click the speakers & setup rest of your setup.
Host OpenAL (ADI) Setup Process *aka. do it right when doing something*:
-Extract from 'SM_EAX\Host OpenAL (ADI).exe' with
WinRAR (Right click > Extract.. > OK
-Copy over the '
oalinst.exe' to "\SM_EAX\Host OpenAL (ADI)".
-Run the Setup & reboot.

19.03.2009 Note for v6.10.02.6520 driver:
Well, after some study on these drivers. Seems user 'venejo' was correct these are the newest of SoundMAX and has a bit advance on some situations to v6.10.02.6480 by sonic focus, but this is hardware dependable ofcourse OS dependable. The v5.10.01.6520 for Windows XP are newest and best.
These drivers were mainly designed it seems for ADI 1989B chipset (Vista Only). The DTS driver there for
supports only this chipset (DTS gives Sensaura Experience Bass boost, chorus and LFE Mixing UNDER Stereo speaker enviroment). The Non-DTS drivers has tags for AD1988-1989B chipsets through (XP-Vista). Non-DTS means the normal Panel however this SoundMAX panel is the old one not the 'BlackHawk'.
There still is no fix for low volume control or reduced volume control over front speakers/headphones, but seems the AudioESP was fixed in some level.
I also personally wanted to test the DTS Audio for 1988B chipset. So builded quick inf/cfg modification for it to go through normal SoundMAX installation (This can be forced through device manager in official .inf files, but anyway build one). Correction: including universal ADI/SoundMAX Guide to 3rd post of this topic.

NOTE: These drivers literally comes with nothing new. Ones again. I'd stick with the old ones as updating SoundMAX is pain in the ars (well, unless you follow my guide on how to do it simpler and better above). Anyway, These drivers comes with no DTS addition. They are plain compatibility drivers build for Windows 7 (Which also works as well on Vista). However considering there never was anything wrong in the 6520 and Windows 7 in the first place exception of badly coded stuff by on Control Panels and Speaker detections (ESP) the drivers worked just fine.
These drivers however may come with better SPDIF Interface, however that won't still allow you to do anything better on SPDIF under Windows 7 than what you had on 6480 or 6520 originally. What goes to SPDIF people out there seems to use HDMI -> SPDIF > Removing the SoundMAX & using that on 192kHz.
Keep in mind there's a lot of titles out there which will not launch, if you set either the normal Speakers or the SPDIF over 48000Hz and these games will drop you random Graphical interface bug to mix the soup or black screen you out to desktop with no reason.Sonic FocusThis Driver is meant for SoundMAX ADI 1988 (Sadly also 1986 bugs this way) x86/x64 as an Fix because every single driver 'audiodg.exe' file uses
around 500000 up to 1,5 million handles because of the DSP profiling. So they released fix and it works dropping all handles to around 200...
Stressing system VERY much less... [
