I guess the only difference would be overclocking headroom.
I never bother about latency timings, in this day and age they are pretty irrelevant. Tweaked to the max latencies might give you 156fps over untweaked at 155. Not worth the effort of running memtest for two days and all the potential crashing etc. etc.
Buy the fastest mhz ram you can afford (the 8000 could last you out another upgrade) but dont worry about the latencies. Slap it in and get using it.

If it's from the same manufacturer it might even be the same IC's, just with a different SPD setting.
In any case, if your overclocking get the PC8000, if not get the PC6400, but it doesn't really matter much at the end of the day. Intel C2D/Q's are not FSB limited anyway, increasing FSB/Bandwidth doesn't make hardly any difference. |

And 2,1v for 6400 is a bit high. |

I agree, look for 1.8v DIMM's, they tend to be better quality/overclockers also. |

| None of the ram I look at seems to be of the <2v variety. Maybe it's because I'm looking at stuff that's $25/gb? |
