Abit NF7-S and wireless NIC recommendation?

Hi all,

It has been a while since I visited this forum and it looks like my old account has been removed. So I ended up creating a new account to post. Smile

I am wondering if anyone has any experience with setting up a wireless NIC (preferably PCI) for 802.11g network on Abit NF7-S v2.0? I am trying to install my Linksys WMP54g card on it but it is causing conflict with my AGP video card. According to manufacturers, both cards require IRQ 11 and it seems there is no way around this conflict. So it looks to me the only way I could solve this is switching network card.

If anyone knows a wireless NIC that works with NF7-S 2.0 that doesn't require IRQ 11 or the IRQ is configurable, please let me know which one you are using. Thank you in advance! Smile

Try disabling your parallel and serial ports in the BIOS (unless you're using them) and it should free up some IRQs. You should also be able to switch the IRQs used in Windows under the Device Manager.

Thanks. I solved the problem by trading in my NIC for an USB based network adapter. Now it works. Smile
