I dont think 5400rpm is all that bad, I used to have a awesome desktop PC and I cant really tell the difference

Could be, I just think why spoil the user experience when you've gone to the trouble of making sure you have the best CPU/ram and graphics you can afford then for the sake of an extra $30 on the option sheet you choose the 250Gb 5400rpm over the 160Gb 7200rpm. If storage is a must then go for the slower drive. If it isnt then get the faster one.

The hardrive is always the bottleneck so make the best of it you can.

To be honest I'm thinknig about replacing my trusty Compaq R4000 (modded up to have a AMD64 4000+/1.5Gb and 100Gb 7200rpm drive) with one of these -
