Both sticks have been tested on this machine (to start up with 1 stick) and on another computer. They are a matched dual channel set.
I did a Memtest on one of them, never did it on the other.
I got tired of trying a million things, so I started flashing the bios one version previous at a time. I finally got down to version 3/10/05 and the memory started working again. However, the system is unstable and will restart at random. I then tried flashing to the release version of 1/25/05 and have the same issue.
So now the system is detecting both my RAM and my Hard Drive but is unstable...
I vaguely recall when i first got the board I had this problem. I thought upgrading the bios fixed it, but I also remember upping the voltage on my ram. Any suggestions for this? I think I put it at 2.7v instead of 2.6, but that was almost 2 years ago...
The Power supply is a Thermaltake, I'll look into details tonight. |

Eep, look into a new PSU.
HERE's a great list of user recommended PSU's for DFI boards.
You won't go wrong following the suggestions found there !

Dang, that's another 100$...
I forgot one last problem I was having.
In version 3/12/05, after I would load optomized defaults, it would hang right after checking the csmos...ok!
Nvidia boot agent would start, and after 3 minutes of sititng there would tell me to check my cables (which we're fine).
What causes that?
Thanks again for all your help! |

It's attempting to boot from a non-existant network drive.

| I got a thermaltake Purepower 680 and although only the 500 is on their list, I am very pleased with it. I have a lot of stuff connected to my machine and it's rock solid. The saleswoman tried to upsell me one that was 200 EUR more expensive but it would have been a waste of money. |
